Child Evangelism Fellowship is an international and non-denominational organisation whose ministry is to reach unreached children with the Gospel; to teach the Word of God to saved children so that they might grow; and to guide the children into the life of the local evangelical churches.

Athlone, sometimes known as the 'dead centre' of Ireland, is the main town between Dublin and Galway. It is well known as a tourist base for the Midlands. While the population is about 20,000 and rapidly growing, the Christian population is about 40 - 0.25%.

Jim and Janice went to Athlone in 1976. Ireland has changed quite a lot since then and Athlone has grown meaning that there are more children who have not yet heard the Gospel.
